Why accept USDT on Solana

Solana is fast and cheap: blocks every fraction of a second and fees that round to zero. Both USDC (issued natively by Circle) and USDT run on it, and it is popular with crypto-native and younger customers.

USDT is the largest stablecoin by circulation. Each token is meant to be worth one US dollar and is issued by Tether. It is the coin most customers already hold on exchanges, and it dominates stablecoin payments in Asia, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, where people use it as everyday digital dollars.

Good fit for:

  • Small payments, where any fee would be noticeable
  • Customers using Phantom or Solflare
  • Both USDT and USDC from the same customer base

How it works with Wolf Pay

  1. Create a payment in your dashboard, with a payment link, or from your server with the API, choosing USDT on Solana.
  2. Your customer pays on a hosted checkout that shows the exact amount, the Solana deposit address, a QR code and the network in large type, so they send the right coin on the right network.
  3. You get paid. Once the transfer has 32 confirmations (under a minute), the payment is marked paid, your webhook fires, and the amount (minus Wolf Pay's fee) is in your USDT balance, ready to pay out to your own wallet.
curl https://wolf-pay-five.vercel.app/api/v1/payments \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $WOLF_PAY_SECRET_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"amount": "49.00", "currency": "USDT", "network": "solana", "order_id": "1001"}'

The response includes a checkout_url to send the customer to. Full reference: API docs.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Solana addresses look different (no 0x, 32–44 letters and numbers).
  • The customer's wallet needs a little SOL for the fee.
  • The amount has to be sent in full: if a customer's exchange deducts its withdrawal fee from the amount, the payment arrives short and is marked underpaid, with the difference shown.
  • Only send USDT to a USDT payment. Other tokens sent to the address aren't credited to the payment.
